Igreja de São Sebastião dos Capuchinhos

Built in 1928 in style neobizantino by architect Richard Buffa, the church was intended to accept the image of San Sebastian, patron of the city of Rio de Janeiro, after the demolition of the Morro Castelo. The bronze doors were performed by Oreste Fabbri. Faced with the presbyterate, you can see the Headstone of marble with the remains of Estácio de Sá, who died in 1583. There is also the symbol that celebrates the founding of city. The feast of San Sebastian is held January 20 in procession to the Metropolitan Cathedral. In the first Friday is the traditional blessing to the faithful. This ceremony repeats every first Friday of the month, thus renewing the faith and hope.

Costruito nel 1928, in stile neobizantino, da architetto Riccardo Buffa, la chiesa è stata destinata ad accogliere l'immagine di San Sebastiano, patrono della città di Rio de Janeiro, dopo la demolizione del Morro del Castelo. Le porte di bronzo sono state eseguite da Oreste Fabbri. Di fronte al presbiterio, è possibile visualizzare il Headstone di marmo con i resti di Estácio de Sá, morto nel 1583. Vi è inoltre il simbolo che festeggia la fondazione della città. La festa di San Sebastiano è tenuta il 20 gennaio in processione fino alla Cattedrale Metropolitana. Nel primo venerdì dell'anno c'è la tradizionale benedizione ai fedeli. Questa cerimonia si ripete ad ogni primo venerdì del mese, rinnovando così la fede e la speranza.
